The recipes
At our innovation and development centres in Austria and Switzerland, we develop new recipes. The food consulting competence of Betty Bossi, which is also part of the extended corporate family, supports us in this as well.
The packaging
We continuously test new packaging technologies and materials to optimise sustainability and the convenience factor.
Quality and safety of our products
All of our products have one thing in common: the quality and safety of our products has to be right to meet the requirement for our colourful variety of healthy, fresh products.
The strictest hygiene guidelines and controls
The entire production process, from cultivation to the packaged product, is subject to the strictest hygiene guidelines and controls.
Administrative food controls & our own analyses
In addition to the administrative food controls, we conduct our own analyses, both in-house and in independent, external laboratories. In Switzerland, we have an in-house microbiological laboratory, which is accredited according to ISO17025
Transparency through quality assurance network
Our quality assurance network ensures transparency through traceability of all products by Eisberg, from the seedling to the customer.
Care and efficiency in the production process
Our production process is characterised by care and efficiency. All our employees are trained, and receive refresher training regularly.
- All the raw materials are examined and checked comprehensively on receipt of the goods for compliance with the specifications.
- In the next step, the raw material is prepared for the production process, cut and checked visually for foreign bodies by a trained eye. Modern technologies such as an optical sorter help in the detection of foreign bodies.
- In a multistage washing process in ice water, foreign bodies such as soil, beneficial organisms and pests, etc. are removed from the products.
- After this, the goods are dried and packaged. After packaging, the bags are inspected using modern equipment such as metal detectors and checkweighers.
- Every batch receives a final inspection by trained personnel prior to delivery.
- The quality department conducts sensory and microbiological checks of semi-finished and end products, based on risks.
- In a last step, the goods are sent for order picking, where they are packaged for the transport to the customer.
- In addition to all these steps to ensure the quality and food safety of our products, we are able to use a modified gas atmosphere (MAP) to support shelf-life.
Our audits in the value-added process
Our entire value-added process is based on the standards of various audits. In the table, you can find an overview of the most important certifications of our individual locations.
Depending on customer needs, further certifications are possible in all processing plants. All the production facilities already meet the highest standards regarding food safety, traceability and process quality.
And at the end, our products speak for themselves. For through our efforts, we finally harvest the rainbow of our colourful range.
