From the sports field to the office – Jürgen shares how family, passion and team spirit drive him, and what excites him most about Eisberg Austria.

 

Since when have you been with Eisberg and in what role?

Since June, Jürgen has been Managing Director of Eisberg Austria. Although he is still new to the team, his energy, enthusiasm and determination to make a difference are immediately apparent. “The first few weeks have been incredibly exciting – I’ve been learning a lot, meeting wonderful colleagues, and noticed straight away just how strong the sense of team spirit is here.”

 Which stages of your professional career have shaped you?

Jürgen brings 21 years of experience in the food industry, including the past six years as Managing Director of Rewe wholesale in Austria. “This period has shown me how important it is to take responsibility and work towards positive long-term development.”

When it comes to food, Jürgen has clear preferences: His favourite fruit is pineapple – fresh, versatile and a little everyday treat. His favourite dish is Caesar salad with croutons, Parmesan and chicken. “But the craziest combination was definitely Swiss sausage salad – because that doesn’t really have much to do with salad,” he says with a grin on his face.

Eisberg’s motto since the beginning of 2024 is: “Everyone Loves Salad.” Do you love salad too?

“Yes – and by now I’ve managed to get my sons to love salad, too.”

If you had to describe yourself as a salad, which one would you be?

“Cabbage salad – it’s in season both summer and winter,”

His motto in life reveals a lot about his attitude: “You know WHAT you are doing – think about WHY you are doing it!” This “why” gives him guidance and motivation – both in his professional and personal life. He is especially motivated by the opportunity to play an active role and work closely together with his colleagues. A special moment for him was seeing the smile and pride of a colleague as he spoke about the products he had produced himself at Eisberg.

Jürgen stays active even outside the office. In his free time, he plays tennis with his wife, football with his two sons, and enjoys long bike rides. “These moments recharge me and bring colour to my life – just like shared experiences with family and friends.” His favourite colour: Violet – the club colour of his favourite football team.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Eisberg family?

“I’m thrilled to be part of an international, dynamic team where unity and growth are truly valued. What I particularly appreciated was the openness of my colleagues on my first day – it instantly reassured me that I belonged here.”
