Alexander Loves Crunchy Vegetables
In the interview with Alexander Ganz, Head of HR at Eisberg, it quickly becomes clear that he stands for community spirit and collaboration. With a life and work motto that reflects the values of treating others with respect, Alexander is a person who puts the people first.
Alexander has been working at Eisberg since 1 January 2024. When asked to describe his time at the company in one word, he says ‘togetherness’ – a testament to the team spirit and interaction at eye level across hierarchical levels.
Alexander, what do you like best about your work at Eisberg? Are there any favourite moments you can tell us about?
As Head of HR at Eisberg, I am constantly working to make the framework conditions for our employees more and more attractive. Driving things forward to become even better as an employer is incredibly fulfilling for me. There are indeed favourite moments. One was the grill truck event – an event where the management team prepared burgers for the employees and took the opportunity to show their appreciation and say “thank you” for their daily commitment. It was nice to see how much they enjoyed it and I thought it was great to be able to interact with them directly.
Another favourite moment for me is every time I visit our sites. The hospitality is incredible – everyone makes me feel welcome. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love working for Eisberg: we are a global ‘family’ and it’s a great feeling to be a part of it.
Our conviction at Eisberg is ‘Everyone Loves Salad. Just not everyone has found out about it yet’. What is your relationship with salad? If you had to describe yourself as a salad, what kind of salad are you?
I like salads especially because they are good for my health, and as a side dish to meat they are a nice addition to the meal. My favourite salads are those with a lot of texture, such as carrot or beetroot salads. To be honest, pure salad leaves are not my favourite.
If I had to describe myself as a salad or salad mix, I would say that I am a vibrant salad with bold colours – something with spice and crunch in it. A kind of Mexican salad with peppers, chillies, lemon juice, combined with tortilla chips might represent me well!
What do you like to do in your free time? What does ‘Colour Your Life’ mean to you personally? How do you bring colour into your life?
Outside of work, I like to spend my time with family and friends, doing things and enjoying life together. For example, I like to ride my motorbike, play football and go fishing.
As for my favourite colour… it’s red! And to answer the question of how I bring colour into my life: it’s undoubtedly the social contacts with very different people. These interactions bring me diversity and joy and are a great way for me to enrich my life, just like a good salad.
Thank you very much, Alexander, for the interview. A fun fact for all non-fishermen: some fish also love salad. Carp, for example, are caught with a mixture of dough and sweetcorn.
