Tobias Wölfle has been part of the Eisberg family for eight years. He started out as CFO and, since 06.2025, has also taken on the responsibility of CEO. In doing so, he combines two key roles in one person – a task he approaches with passion, down-to-earthness, and a good dose of humour. Tobias began his professional career at KPMG, where he spent nine years working in audit and advisory. He then headed Shared Service Accounting at BFG for two years before joining Eisberg.

Looking back, he describes his career at Eisberg so far as a rollercoaster ride: “Professionally, the constantly changing circumstances were challenging, e.g. during Covid.” At the same time, however, we were able to celebrate an incredible number of successes together,” he said. In his private life, this period marks the founding of his family, which he describes as the most important foundation of his life.

Tobias, what motivates you most about your work?

“Being part of and helping to shape positive changes for our company and for our employees.” Among his fondest memories at Eisberg, he counts the acquisition of Sylvain&Co, the inauguration of Eisberg Austria, and many other occasions when the teams celebrated their achievements together. “It’s difficult to single out one particular moment – it’s all those times when we grow together and achieve our goals.”

Tobias also has many sides outside of work. He most enjoys spending time with his family—having barbecues together, going on outings or simply in day-to-day life. He also sings in a band, is a passionate diver (albeit unfortunately far too rarely), and now and then treats himself to a late-night gaming session with PC games that are 20 years old, once the rest of the family are already asleep.

And what about salad?

His favourite salad is lamb’s lettuce (corn salad); of the iceberg salad bowls, he likes the Mexican one from ECH best. He especially likes to combine lettuce leaves with tomatoes, avocado, egg, and a punchy sauce. He had an extraordinary experience in Laos, where he tried a salad with caterpillar larvae as its protein base. If he had to compare himself to a salad? “Definitely a cos lettuce—always crisp and alert.” His motto fits perfectly with his outgoing nature: “Never live without laughing.” His favourite colour is brown. He brings colour into his life by seeing every day as a new opportunity – never as mere routine. “That’s what makes life exciting and varied.”
