Manuel shares how curiosity, a desire to shape things and team spirit drive him, and what excites him most about Eisberg Österreich.

How long have you been with Eisberg, and in what role?

As a founding team member, he has been involved in the site’s development since May 2017. “In the past nine years, I have had the opportunity to get to know many different business areas in operations,” he says. This experience culminated in an impressive development: Since July 2025, he has been responsible for heading Human Resources; two months later, he became a member of the Executive Committee.

In his role as Head of HR, Manuel now sees himself primarily as a shaper and companion. He serves as a strategic partner, talent manager and shaper of culture with a clear goal: To align the needs of colleagues with the goals of Eisberg.

Which professional roles have influenced you?

Before his time at Eisberg, Manuel gained valuable experience in international sales and key account positions at another food producer in Upper Austria. He sums up his years at Eisberg in a single, fitting word: “Instructive!” “Educational!” The beginning of 2019 has especially stayed in his memory: “An exciting moment among many was the day when we started up the production facilities for real customer orders for the first time. We worked towards that as a team for months.”

Eisberg’s motto is “Everyone Loves Salad.” Do you love salad as well?

“Absolutely!” “Salad is on my menu at least every other day, often even daily,” Manuel reveals. His absolute favourite: Lettuce with cucumbers, olives, tuna and egg.

If you had to describe yourself as a salad, which one would you be?

“I’d be a fusion salad bowl,” he says with a smile. “Unexpected combinations like mango, chilli, and lime reflect my curiosity and appetite for new experiences, true to my motto ‘Life is a laboratory, not a museum’.” I like to make spontaneous decisions and would rather collect experiences than plan everything strictly in advance.” This vibrancy is also reflected in his everyday work, where he advances HR topics with great energy and a spirit of experimentation.

What gives you energy outside the office?

In his private life, it is mainly his three-year-old son who keeps him on his toes. When Manuel finds time for himself, he is drawn to nature – whether hiking up mountains or by the lakes, that is where he recharges. He brings colour into his life by discovering new things: “Whether travelling, meeting new people or taking a small adventurous detour in everyday life – it’s about doing things that touch you emotionally.” Fitting with his affinity for nature, green is his favourite colour.
